Shared commitment

The notion of “living together”, which is central to our corporate purpose, is more relevant than ever.
Alain DininCHAIRMAN
Nexity formalised its corporate purpose in 2020. How is it reflected in the Group’s current operations?

Alain Dinin The notion of “living together”, which is central to our corporate purpose, is more relevant than ever. According to the Fondation Abbé-Pierre, one in five French people is now living below the poverty line because of the cost of housing and associated fees and bills. Housing and cities – two of Nexity’s core focal points – are at the crux of key issues facing our society. Separating the world into haves versus have-nots, social housing versus the free market, new versus existing homes, and urban versus.

The Group’s governance changed in 2021, with Véronique Bédague taking over as CEO while you remained Chairman of the Board of Directors.  What is your take on this development?

Alain Dinin I have full confidence in the management team led by Véronique Bédague, who now oversees the company’s day-to-day  and medium-term operations. Nexity’s 2021 balance sheet is solid, the Group’s backlog  is robust, it has the equity needed to grow and its debt  is under control. As for my own role, it is now much more focused on analysing all the strategic implications of our priorities and helping  guide our Group as it adapts to the changes taking place in society.
